My Story - In a nutshell!

I have always been a strong minded creative for as long as I can remember!  I've always know what works and what doesn't from a visual perspective.  Here are a few interesting random bullet points.

  • I won a drawing competition in a women's magazine when I was 7

  • I left school with zero qualifications - apart from Art - wasn't interested and rarely attended.  

  • Educated myself spending time with inspirational people, travelled, had a motor bike, went to way too many gigs, and had lots of adventures!

  • Went back to secondary school, crammed and obtained all my qualifications as I wanted to go to Uni and that was a pre-requisite.

  • While in Milan, was followed around by photographers due to my outrageous appearance - visited galleries, starred in an add for Fiorucci.

  • Worked with the late and beautiful Pattie Bell who was inspirational - Birmingham was a wild ride full of colourful people, art and music.

  • Selected out of all the universities in the UK as an outstanding designer and exhibited in London as well as producing a collection.

  • I worked as a product designer and was flown out to Hong Kong - surreal visiting factories in a stretch limo.

  • My design skills have always been utilised throughout my professional career and I'm passionate about great design!

I am proud to call myself a Yorkshire Lass who considers Teesside home.  During my time in Teesside I have again brought my creative skills into businesses that I've worked for and around 8 years ago started YG.   I'm proud of everything we offer and love that what we create and offer, elevates the businesses we work for.
